22 New Restaurants
| A review of 22 new restaurants I'm trying during the age of 22 |
So this is probably my favorite blog ever & is so not going to help my goal of losing 22 lbs in any way. BUT, I'm more than ecstatic to travel around & try some new stuff. 22 New Restaurants will feature 22 spots across 5-6 different states that stuck out to me & needed to be shared. To be featured here, two criteria need to be met. Great food is a must & either awesome craft beer or something worth seeing. A great view, art, my drink get set on fire? I'm just throwing things out here. I'm a big believer we unknowingly fall into habits of doing the same thing every day. My life at 19, 20, & parts of 21 felt very repetitive & kind of boring. Don't get me wrong, I've had a lot of fun on trips, weekend getaways, & a few staycations. But ultimately my everyday life was feeling redundant. I found out the answer to solve that. TRY NEW THINGS & TRY THINGS THAT INTEREST YOU! I love food, and I love working out, I love working out so I can eat more food!? Counterproductive? Or genius? I love a lot of things, & I'm going to do more of them this year to break old habits. They might die hard, but I'm up for a challenge. So if ya know of a great place & think I have to try it. Given it isn't halfway across the world, I might check it, send me a DM here: Cora Bolds. :-]

#1 | Tap 42 | Coral Gables, FLorida
The food was cooked to perfection. I could tell they made the food to order, which turned out to be nothing shy of phenomenal. We dined on a beautiful day & sat outside. The service was great & we received our food relatively quick. Go on Sunday. They have amazing brunch specials & up-beat music. Although no view, Tap 42 keeps a lovely assortment of cold craft beer on tap. I love stouts/porters & they keep a steady line up of crafty, craft beer all year long!
#2 | GYU-KaKu | Miami, Florida
I had never been to a restaurant where you cook your own food before! Fondu doesn’t count because it has nothing on Gyu-Kaku. The fact that there is a grill in the middle of your table for you to cook on is mind-blowing. Levi and I got the couples special which came with way too much food, but we got to try a little bit of everything. It started with two miso soups, one huge salad, an appetizer of fried chicken, seven different meats for us to grill, two bowls of rice, and then three s’mores for dessert. All for $70. Mind blown. Located right in the middle of Brickell near the Brickell City Centre and the SLS hotel, Gyu-Kaku is a must do if you’re in the Miami area!
#3 | Cafe MILANO | NAPLES, FLORIDA
Located on 5th Ave in Naples, Cafe Milano makes you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Monte-Carlo. Everything from the atmosphere to the food is authentic and delicious. Their pasta is made daily, their drinks are phenomenal, and from 3-6pm everyday (out of season), their menus is half off. Yes, the whole menu. Since this is only a half hour from my house, rest assured I’ll be back next week.
#4 | ViewHouse | Denver, Colorado
Right in the heart of Denver, this three story bar is easy to get to & packs lots of fun things through each floor. The bottom level features corn hole, volleyball, glow-in-the-dark swings, & much more. The middle is an open space bar with a few tables, & the top has a view/bar that exhibits all of downtown Denver. The food menu is extensive, & certainly has something for everyone. The drink list is packed with local brews & a few of their signature drinks.
#5 | ACME Delicatessen + PIGTRAIN | Denver, colorado
Both places are located next to each other in Denver’s iconic Union Station. These grab-and-go stops are a must if your in LoDo (lower downtown Denver). I could eat this LOX bagel from Acme everyday, accompanied by Pigtrain’s coffee makes the perfect breakfast. Pigtrain also has the cutest cream & sugar bar for you to personally customize your cup! Next stop, food coma.
#6 | Biju’s Little Curry shop | Denver, Colorado
First time having Indian food turned out to be a huge success thanks to Biju’s. This is the chipotle of Indian food. They have a build your own plate that they craft for you based on how hot you like it. Bring a water jug because they can certainly serve up the heat. Located in the RiNo (River North) district, this place is a must for lunch to fill up and see the sites. I can’t thank them enough for having us, it might have been my favorite spot we ate at in Denver. Biju’s sets the bar high.
#7 | WORK & CLASS | DENVER, COLORADO
Work & Class redefines everything you know about tapas restaurants. Tapas are small plates that come out of the kitchen at various times, intended to be shared with your whole table. Work & Class is a quirky, fast paced, intimate environment, that won’t disappoint. The food isn’t over elaborate, but its flavorful and well crafted. Levi and I got 6 different tapas and enjoyed every last bite. They also stock local craft beer on draft and in cans. Check out the bathrooms, their '‘rules’ are cute and eccentric. Closed Mondays!
#8 | Denver biscuit co | Denver, colorado
Biscuits the size of your head, and better than your grandma can make is all I have to say about this extraordinary breakfast spot. I’m not kidding when I say the typical wait time during prime time is nearly two hours. When you get your food, you’ll understand why. The biscuit itself melts in your mouth, plus the geniuses in the kitchen are giving you all sorts of inspiration to choose a sandwich you’ll enjoy. Don’t pass up the giant biscuit cinnamon rolls, they’re to die for.
#9 | Snooze an am eatery | Denver, Colorado
Wow, can you say best hash browns ever? Snooze was so good Levi and I ate there twice in four days. First time around I had the Snooze Classic which made me addicted to their spicy hash browns, and the second trip I had the Snooze Spuds Deluxe. Because… more hash browns?? In Denver their are a few Snooze locations but the one in Denver’s Union Station is my favorite. They had the best atmosphere, great view, and things to do around the restaurant if you have to wait a little for a table. Get there early, the wait can get up to three hours!!
#10 | Sagrado cafe | miami, florida
Sagrado has a special place in my heart. Not only does everything they make taste amazing but they were kind enough to host my very own Influencer event! Taciana & Ozzie the owner and manager know their stuff. The gelato bar is crazy authentic, the location is right on Biscayne Blvd with a view of downtown and the bay, and the atmosphere is modern and trendy. Whether you go Monday morning for coffee or Friday for a late lunch, Sagrado never disappoints. My favorite meal? Cheese bread to start, caprese sandwich with their awesome side salad, a freshly squeezed mimosa, and finish it with chocolate gelato. If you’re heading to Miami make sure you take stop in and tell them Cora sent you!
#11 | Ironside Pizza | Miami, florida
Wow just wow. The location is off the beaten path a bit but don't let that discourage you! There are shops around this restaurant and a little playground for kids to play. It's very calm at night but super trendy and enjoyable if you've brought the right company. For apps we got caprese (they bring balsamic on the side) For main dish I ordered the chicken with potatoes, their take on the pepperoni pizza, and pasta that was so out of this world I'll be making a point to get back to Ironside again soon! I have to say the service was over the top. The wait staff that wasn't assigned to me still made a point to say hello in passing and ask if we needed anything. The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and provide recommendations that are exquisite. Grab some gelato on the way out, the chocolate is to die for. Side note: no liquor is served here, but you can bring a bottle of wine and pay no corking fee!
#12 | Poke fish | Tampa, Florida
THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME HAVING POKE!!! OMG. Mind blown! The fish they use is incredibly fresh, their veggies and fruits are delicious, and their custom sauces are out of this world! They have the cutest ‘fish don’t kill my vibe’ sign, insta-worthy bowls, and even poke for your pup! Yes!! Mini Poke bowls are ready to go to your favorite four-legged friends! But let’s not get distracted, I have to go over what’s in these pictures so you know how to order it just right! I got the pineapple boat with 3 proteins (salmon, tuna, shrimp), blueberries, strawberries, avocado chunks, seaweed salad, & more pineapple! This is all on top of their cilantro lime rice and drizzled with spicy mayo and sesame seeds. Full was an understatement, Poke Fish is just delicious!
#13 | World famous house of mac | Maimi, Florida
If you’re a mac n’ cheese lover look no further than house of mac. Don’t just take it from me. All the greats from Kid Cudi to Asap Ferg have visited this crowd favorite. Whether you go at 12 p.m. or 12 a.m. there is a wait out the door and around the corner. Let me be the honest, seating is limited, the mac cooking makes it a little toasty inside, and its tight quarters but the food is so good it makes it all worth it. Visit there new space in the Miami Brightline station for all the mac you can handle.
