Southwest Florida is known for its beautiful beaches, warm weather, and stunning sunsets. But in addition to its natural beauty, the region also boasts a rich culinary scene that’s worth a deep dive. With a variety of restaurants offering everything from fresh seafood to international cuisine, there truly is something for everyone in Southwest Florida. Whether you're a foodie looking for the latest culinary trends, a visitor on the hunt for a can’t-get-it-anywhere-else type of meal, or a local looking to branch out of your norm, Southwest Florida has something to offer.
In this blog I’ll take you everywhere from $3 taquerias to upscale fine dining on 5th. I’m talking every hole in the wall to “I might need a small loan to eat here” type of place. We’ll cover breakfast, lunch, and dinner; grouped up and organized by geographical location. The only thing we’re not going to cover in this blog is chain restaurants. If you can eat it in the middle of Ohio, you won’t find it here. At the very end I’ll throw in some coffee shops, dessert spots, and local watering holes that I think need to be mentioned. Del Mar holds a special place in my heart as one of my all-time favorites! It's not just the exceptional food but also the divine ambiance with its stylish and sleek decor that captivates. Taking inspiration from the Mediterranean coastal regions, Del Mar's talented chefs masterfully merge the flavors of Greece, Southern Spain, Morocco, France, Italy, and Turkey into every delectable creation. Their menu, crafted from scratch, rotates with the seasons, featuring an array of seafood paired with vibrant produce, artisanal cheeses, luscious olive oil, and a medley of earthy spices. As you dine, savor shareable dips, delightful spreads, and crisp flatbreads, setting the stage for a perfect night out with friends. So impressed was I by the restaurant that I simply had to choose it as the venue for my birthday celebration. And all my friends unanimously agree, Del Mar is absolutely fantastic! Stop by the Vine Room across the street for a drink after, you won’t be disappointed.
